Welcome to EK Personal Budget Planner. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services operated by EK Personal Budget Planner ("we," "us," or "our").

EK Personal Budget Planner is a web-based personal finance management application that helps users:

• Create and manage budgets using the envelope method

• Generate financial reports and summaries

2. Account Registration

You must be at least 16 years old to use our services. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement.

• You are responsible for all activities under your account
• We recommend using a strong, unique password

2.3 Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.

3. Subscription Plans

3.1 Free Plan

Our free plan includes limited features as described on our pricing page. Free accounts may be subject to usage limitations.

3.2 Premium Plans

• Premium features require a paid subscription
• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
• Current pricing is available at our pricing page

3.3 Payment Processing

• Payments are processed securely by PesaPal (supporting M-Pesa and card payments)
• You authorize us to charge your payment method for subscription fees
• Failed payments may result in service suspension

4. Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No partial refunds for unused portions of a subscription period

5. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Upload malicious code or content
• Scrape, crawl, or collect data without permission
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated systems to access the service

6. User Data and Content

You retain ownership of all financial data you enter into the application. We claim no ownership rights over your content.

6.2 Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. We provide tools to help manage finances but are not responsible for financial decisions you make based on the data.

While we maintain regular backups, we recommend you export your data periodically using our export features.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EK Personal Budget Planner and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

11. Service Modifications

• We may update these Terms periodically
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support or using account deletion features.

We may terminate or suspend your account for:

• Suspected fraudulent or illegal activity
• Non-payment of subscription fees
• Extended periods of inactivity (with notice)

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.

14. Dispute Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us to attempt informal resolution. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through our support channels.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
